With War of the Realms behind us, Marvel Comics has released the first unlettered, colored preview of Jane Foster: Valkyrie #1, which spins out of the blockbuster summer event.

The finale of War of the Realms saw Jane Foster summon her Goddess of Thunder persona to fight alongside the young Viking Thor, present-day Thor and King Thor from the future against the evil dark elf Malekith. However, with the fleet of Valkyrie warriors slaughtered during the early moments of the event, Jane Foster will step in to fill the void left in their absence in her own solo series by writers Jason Aaron, Al Ewing and artist Cafu.

The preview pages for Jane Foster: Valkyrie #1 feature Jane soaring down from the heavens with her golden wings and new Asgardian weapon to face a group of five supercriminals. Once the battle begins, we see Jane is still a fierce warrior not to be underestimated, as she takes down each villain while also rescuing innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire.

It was previously revealed that Valkyrie's new weapon is called Undrjarn the All-Weapon, with Ewing telling stating that it's "forged in the fires of the Realm-War." It also has the ability to change its shape to be whatever the wielder needs, with Jane using it to form wings to grant her flight.
